What type of operation would the Cuppone Donatello pizza oven do best in?

The Donatello is arguably our favourite of the Cuppone deck ovens. It has great controllability and excellent heat regeneration, making it a versatile powerhouse capable of churning out all styles of pizzas!

Can this oven reach 500°C?

Nope, and it doesn’t have to! The secret’s out: the 500°C thing is a myth. The Donatello easily produces perfect Neapolitan-style pizzas without the need for crazy heat. It’s all about technique, dough, and consistency, not maxing out the dial. Still not convinced? Pop into our demo kitchen and try it for yourself! What does the controllable power actually mean?

It means you can control the percentage of power being used by the heating elements, both from above and below the stone. For example, if you’re cooking on screens (not something we recommend), you’ll need to put more energy into the stone, as it has to heat the stone, the screen, and then the pizza. This feature also makes it easier to fine-tune the oven when changing pizza styles or recipes.

What are the programs for?

The programs allow you to create and store custom cooking settings. This is ideal if you serve different pizza styles – for example, you can program one deck for 14" New York pizzas and another for your big 22" New Yorkers cooked on screens. It’s also a great tool for maintaining consistency across the team, especially when less experienced staff are using the oven.
